Description

In keeping with the theme of the winning landscape planning design for the IGA 2027 and its rolling topography, the bridge over the Lippe is intended to offer visitors the opportunity to experience tranquility in nature. The integration of the bridge into the cycle path network was also taken into account and both purposes were harmoniously combined. At the southernmost point of the Lippe, the bridge crosses the river valley in a gentle, S-shaped curve. Cyclists are encouraged to slow down by the curve of the bridge, which falls longitudinally over the Lippe, and are encouraged to be aware of nature and other passers-by. A diagonally running arch above the S-shaped deck not only supports the bridge, but also makes the whole structure a visual attraction. On both sides of the bridge, symmetrically matching, rest areas with wooden benches are planned. The railing is simply and cleanly designed with its vertical wooden posts.

Description

The new building connects the two schools separated by the city moat like a "flying classroom". The new school center extends along Friedrichstrasse with a clear focus. For this purpose, a public forecourt and the entrance in the west are provided. From the city moat, the school will also be noticeable in the surrounding landscape without overly obstructing the view along the moat from a pedestrian perspective. To achieve this, the building is constructed in sections like a bridge. The historic city moat remains virtually untouched as a result and the two schools will continue to grow together.

We want to get involved in the current discussion about how to deal with the Köhlbrand Bridge, which is now in disrepair, in order to preserve a Hamburg landmark. There is still a lot of potential for Hamburg in this regard. Even if the future crossing of the Köhlbrand is to be achieved by a tunnel, the familiar silhouette from the city and the breathtaking panorama over the vibrant harbor into the city can be retained. Our approach is not only to preserve the existing 135 m high pylons, but to give them a new use.

Description

The St.Pauli-Elbe Tunnel was opened in 1911 and gave dockworkers pedestrian access to the harbor. As a by-product, recreational activities on the south shore became attractive to Hamburg's population. So did the Steinwerder baths (1900-1954). Our idea is to reactivate the historic leisure baths in connection with the Bornsteinplatz on a bathing pontoon and to give the people of Hamburg a breathtaking view of their city back. The public space of Bornsteinplatz will be extended in a practical way and is already well connected by the "Old Elbe Tunnel". Especially now, after the renovation of the old Elbe tunnel, there will again be an experience on the southern bank of the Elbe.

As a participant in a restricted competition involving renowned architectural firms such as Coop Himmelb(l)au and Stefano Boeri, Hadi Tehrani Architects ultimately came up with the winning idea for an urban master plan and mixed-use complex in Tehran. The idea was developed in collaboration with Eike Becker Architects and DC4s. Among other planning projects, the master plan calls for a 215-meter office tower, six mid-rise office buildings and a multipurpose exhibition center, all integrated into an extensive network of public gardens, parks and recreational facilities. As the new home for the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), the complex is destined to function as a green inner-city destination in Tehran.

The central element of the design is the pylon located west of the B61 and south of the Dalke, which is composed of 6 tension cords and spans over the B61. The pylon references the 6 spokes of the flywheel from the coat of arms, which is still considered the town's emblem today. The symbol of industriousness, forestry and the fine regional yarn spinning of bygone days will in future guide motorists and cyclists across Herzebrocker Street to the city center.

...to the horizon ...and back... The theme of the design is the path to the horizon and back. The path leads in a circular route to a high vantage point, then down to the water in a loop and back again. The path to the vastness of the sea is staged by an ascending ramp. The end of the bridge is not a dead end that forces one to turn around, but rather it offers many possibilities: to look at the sea and the sky, to approach the water through several levels, to board a boat or to swim and dive in the water. After that, the path leads back to the land.

The spacious column placement, in combination with an architecturally evolved structural analysis, results in a coherent, rib-like form of the ceiling geometry. The resulting geometric pattern is the outcome of structural engineering optimization. This efficient ribbed structure reduces the dead weight of the concrete body in order to maximize the performance of the structure, thus creating an organic, exciting design based on the principles of nature.

Following the merger of the former Paul Gerhardt Church congregation and the Emmaus Church congregation, a new community center and a new daycare facility will be built on the site of the Emmaus Church. The structure of the parish hall is provided by vertical copper panels of varying widths in a cohesive configuration. The recessed, vertical floor-to-ceiling windows, which fold into the roof plane, match the church façade and help to define its variation. In the interior spaces, the view into the garden and skyward is the subject of the design. The penetration of light from the strip windows and the concrete and glass window in the parish hall create a special spatial atmosphere.
